Security Notice:
Beware of fake payment requests
Fake news via WhatsApp or text message
Hotel guests are currently receiving fraudulent messages via WhatsApp or SMS that refer to genuine reservations and ask them to make a payment or enter credit card information. These messages do not come from us.
What happened?
There was a security breach in the booking software provided by an external service provider that we use for online reservations. Unauthorized individuals may have been able to view booking details: name, email address, phone number, booking number, travel dates, and booking amount. To the best of our current knowledge, payment and credit card information were not compromised. The vulnerability has been patched. Online bookings made between October 2025 and September 2026 may be affected. We have already personally notified all guests whose email addresses we have on file.
How to protect yourself
- We will never ask you via WhatsApp or text message to make a payment or enter card information.
- Do not open any links in such messages and do not enter any payment information.
- If you have any questions, you can reach us by phone at +49 (0) 6731 997600 or by email at info@weinhotel-kaisergarten.de. Please use only these contact details, not those provided in a suspicious message.
If you have already entered your information or made a payment, please contact your bank or credit card company immediately, have your card blocked if necessary, and file a report with the police. Please also notify us.
